Welcome to the Lansing PTSO

The next PTSO meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, June 4th at 6:30pm in the ES library.  We welcome all members of the Lansing community to attend.  Membership in the PTSO is not required.  Child care is available free of charge. 
 
A big round of thank yous go out to all of the volunteers who helped out with the spring book fair at the elementary school.  Another round of thank yous go out to all of the parents, guardians, grand friends, teachers and staff who purchased books for their children, grandkids, friends, neighbors, students and classrooms.  Thank you for supporting literacy!
Dig Into Reading at the MS Spring Book Fair
Join us on June 4th and 6th during the school day (7:30am-2:30pm) and June 5th during the art show (6-8:30pm) for the spring book fair at the MS.  The MS student book crew is collaborating with the Lansing Community Library staff to bring their summer reading program theme (Dig Into Reading) to life at the MS book fair, in hopes that more tweens and teens will sign up for the summer reading program and win some of the great prizes being offered!

Campbell's Labels for Education Programcampbells
Do you know that the Lansing schools participate in the Campbell's Labels for Education program?  Here's how it works: collect the UPCs and bottle caps from participating Campbell's products you already purchase, send them into your child's school and watch the points add up for our district.   Points will be used to fund new playground supplies for the ES and MS and to assist in the purchase of supplies for the pack a backpack program that helps families in need in our community get ready for back to school!  FMI, contact Aziza Benson, Campbell's LFE coordinator or visit this website.
PTSO Board Positions Available for 2013-2014
The PTSO is always looking for new members and more volunteers.  To find out how you can make a big difference during the 2013-2014 school year, please contact us via email at ptso@lcsd.k12.ny.us.  Most board positions have been filled for next year, but event coordinators are still needed.

What is Scrip, you ask?  Click on this link which will take you to a video tutorial explaining how this gift card program works.  Then, get on over to the PTSO SCRIP page to check out how you can purchase Scrip Now! electronic gift cards instantly online with a Presto Pay! account (similar to Paypal).  Scrip Now! and Presto Pay! are great for those last minute gift cards (delivered via email as e-cards that you can print out).  A final paper order for the year is coming soon!  Check back for an update.
